Mallard Hanging Game Painting, by Listed Artist William Gurry, Ca. 1900.
Gurry is listed online and in 2004 Davenport's Art Guide. His works border on realism but still have folk appeal. It's rare to find his work let alone own a piece of it. This painting depicts a hanging Mallard on an old cupboard or barn type door. It is signed in the lower right hand corner. The frame is original and also great with gold gilt and splatter red and black paint around the edges. Great painting for the money.

Fly Fishing Watercolor by Listed Artist Edythe A Laws (1922-1984)
Edythe A Laws was born in 1922 and was a fairly well known Maine artist. She lived in South Harpswell and Brunswick Maine and was a protege of Andrew Wyeth. Many of her works have been exhibited at the Maine State House 3 different times in the 1970's and a few of her works have surfaced in a couple auction houses over the years. This is a really great painting with excellent subject matter. The only issues are with the original mat where there is some discoloration but it looks to have protected the painting itself which is good. There is also a piece of the frame's glass missing on the upper right corner that can be easily replaced. Painting is mint and the colors still vivid. Great painting.
