White and one of the two Fox pintails were in that group There are two
known to exist. The rig mate to this decoy is pictured on page 143 of
Floating Sculpture by Huster & Knight and also in the Great book of Decoys
by Joe Engers this bird was in the collection of Sommers G. Headley and

Bill is considered the
Elmer Crowell of the 21st. century by many in the collecting field, and
this stretching marbled godwit is proof of that comment. The paint is
finished to give a mellow 75 year old appearance, and the feather carving
is outstanding.

Charlie Bryan was honorary
chairman for the 1984 Havre De de Grace decoy festival, and a full set
of his decoys were placed in the hall of honor at the museum in recognition
of the outstanding carving career. Woodducks were not a part of that set,
Charlie made about 2 dozen pr. a few years later and gave a set to the
museum, the pair offered here were part of that original 12, they are
in pristine condition, and are the rarest of all Bryan decoys to find.
They are being offered for the first time on this site.

B. Cobb of Cobb's Island Virginia. This bird is a replica of the famous
